A Little about Me
Henrietta Ray (Henri for short)
Dip. Couns. (Oxon), Dip. Neurodiversity & Eating Disorder, MBACP
Psychodynamic Therapist for Adults & Young People
I specialise in working with adults and adolescents who experience anxiety, overthinking, disordered eating, eating disorders, and issues linked to neurodiversity (autism and ADHD). If you feel stuck in patterns of self-doubt, overwhelmed by racing thoughts, or struggling with food and body image, you’re not alone. Therapy can offer a space to untangle these challenges, helping you find clarity, confidence, and greater self-acceptance.
My approach is warm, thoughtful, and deeply rooted in psychodynamic therapy, which explores the unconscious patterns shaping your emotions and behaviours. By understanding the ‘why’ behind your struggles, we can work towards lasting change, rather than just short-term coping strategies.
After a successful career in business and technology, I retrained as a therapist at Oxford University, completing a rigorous three-year psychotherapy programme with distinction. I now contribute as a guest lecturer on the Oxford University psychotherapy diploma course.
To deepen my work with neurodivergent clients and those experiencing disordered eating, I completed a specialist diploma in neurodiversity and eating disorders with NEDDE Training Ltd in 2024. This has strengthened my ability to support individuals navigating the intersection of anxiety, perfectionism, ADHD, autism, and food-related struggles.
Alongside my private practice, I work with the Phoenix Counselling Cooperative, providing in-person therapy for young people (ages 11–18) in schools across Oxfordshire.
Seeking therapy can feel like a big step, but it’s also a powerful one. If you’re ready to explore what’s going on beneath the surface and work towards a calmer, more balanced way of being, I’d love to hear from you.
